Tech tAUk Reloaded #5: The Rich Man’s iPhone

Tech tAUk Reloaded

It’s been a marathon of tech announcements over the past week, and we’ve packed it all into this hefty news-filled episode of Tech tAUk Reloaded. We recorded this episode just this afternoon, right after Apple concluded their special iPhone keynote event.

We go through every detail of the colorful new iPhone 5c and the ritzy new iPhone 5s, with its new “Touch ID” fingerprint sensor, 64-bit A7 chip, and beefed-up camera system. We also take one more look at the new features of iOS 7, which will be released for download next Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Then we jump back to Samsung’s announcements from the “Unpacked” event they held last Thursday: a new Galaxy Gear smartwatch, the Galaxy Note 3 “phablet”, and the Galaxy Note 10.1 10-inch tablet.

Finally we talk about Microsoft’s plan to buy Nokia for $7.2 billion, and laugh at Yahoo!’s weird new logo.

About Douglas Bell

I live in Washington, D.C., and work as a Broadcast Technician at WAMU 88.5 FM, the local NPR affiliate in the Washington metro area. My primary shift is to engineer the local feed of NPR’s Morning Edition, including local news and weather, long-form features and station breaks… and yes, the shift starts at 5 am, so I’ve got the whole quasi-nocturnal thing going on. I am also the Coordinating Producer for Ken Rudin’s Political Junkie, an independently-produced podcast and public radio program. Extracurricularly, I play cello, and participate in a church choir and a handbell choir. I enjoy discovering new places, and am constantly searching for the perfect cheeseburger. I am also known as a frequent teller of puns.
