How Awesome Is The “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” Video Game?

Once upon a time, there lived a woman. A woman named Jane Austen. Jane was a simple girl with a dream: to bore men and women of all nations with insipidly-written books.

But that dream was never realized, thanks to the masterwork of one Seth Grahame-Smith. Seth took Jane’s most famous book, Pride and Prejudice, and re-imagined it as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It became an instant best-seller, and now it is being adapted into a movie.

But before we get to watch Natalie Portman’s Elizabeth Bennett kicking some zombie ass, we get a chance to kick some zombie ass ourselves.

If you wanted to not just see, but control a woman in a conservative white dress spin around like an over-hyper four-year-old through a mass of zombies, this is the game for you. If you wanted to see your favorite P&P&Z novel be distilled down to its undead-killing core, this is the game for you. If you just like pressing virtual buttons on your iPhone and seeing stuff happen, then this is also the game for you.

This surprising tidbit (brought to light by Gizmodo’s Jason Chen, who is presumably still in trouble) means that you are actually killing zombies with kicks and punches in the role of a stuffy English woman with a big white dress.
